A protest march by members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on Thursday might cause delays on certain GO GEORGE bus routes, the George Municipality.

"The march will depart behind the taxi rank in Mitchell Street at 10:00,proceed via Hibernia Street, crossing York Street into CJ Langenhoven Street, around the circle at the George Hospital from where the march will move to the parking area in front of the hospital via Davidson Road, where a memo will be handed over," said Debra Sauer, Communications Department at George Municipality.

"The march will then continue along Davidson Road to the York Street circle, and down York Street to the parking area in front of the Civil Engineering Department (old Town Hall) to hand over another memorandum."

She said that delays on all routes along Davidson Road and York Street must be expected between 10:00 and 15:00, while Route 2 Blanco - CBD will be rerouted to travel along Davidson Road between 10:00 and 11:00, unless circumstances dictate otherwise. GO GEORGE representatives will be placed at the affected Palm and Herrie bus stops on CJ Langenhoven Street to inform passengers of the diversion.

"The GO GEORGE Call Centre will also have the latest information and can be called on 0800 044 044," said Sauer.

"GO GEORGE apologises for any inconvenience caused by this march."
