Eskom says probability of evening load shedding high

While Eskom expected no load shedding on Tuesday morning, the power utility warned of possible load shedding during peak hours today. Eskom has not implemented load shedding in the past three days.

Probability of  load shedding is low for this morning and high for this evening,” the power utility tweeted in the morning.

Eskom said that with the current cold weather across the country, electricity users should consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm. Electricity demand in winter peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity was being used, the power utility said.

“We appeal to all our customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm.”
