Extension of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum Biennial exhibition

Art lovers have a final opportunity to view the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum Biennial exhibition, thanks to the extension to 22 February 2015 of the closing date of the Biennial, which showcases top local fine art talent.

This noteworthy exhibition of Eastern Cape art was peer selected by art professionals from across South Africa.  Twenty-seven artists were selected from nominations received.

They are: Dorothy Barnes, Cleone Cull, Maureen de Jager, Beverly de Lange, Christine Dixie, Derrick Erasmus, Charmaine Haines, Anthony Harris, Nic Hauser, Lydia Holmes, Tim Hopwood, Christiaan Kritzinger, Alhyrian Laue, Carla Leisching, Nomusa Makhubu, Brent Meistre, Nigel Mullins, Siyabonga Ngaki, Susan Opperman, Jennifer Ord, Monique Pelser, Tanya Poole, Marc Pradervand, Stephen Rosin, Dolla Sapeta, ZachTaljaard, Jonathan van der Walt, Rat Western.

To young South African artists, Nicholas Hlobo and Athi-Patra Ruga, were invited to participate in this prestigious exhibition, as well as Greg Kerr, who served on the selection panel. 

Since the launch of the NMM Art Museum Biennial in 2006, The Municipality has helped promote thirty-five top established artists and new signatures through three group exhibitions and four outstanding solo award exhibitions.
