Five new signings confirmed for Chippa ahead of PSL season resumption

Ahead of their first ABSA Premiership clash of 2017 against the last placed-Baroka FC on Tuesday the 7th of February, Chippa United have five new, young and promising confirmed signings.

The new signings are: Sello Jafta (22), Donald Mokondelela (25), Yurigg Conwood (19), Justice Chabalala (21) and Pentjie Zulu (26).

Zulu has been signed from the Bidvest Wits, where he appeared at midfield for their Multichoice Diski Challenge side and has now signed a lengthy three and a half year deal with the Chilli Boys.

Meanwhile, Chabalala, claims that he has high ambitions, both for himself and Chippa as a whole, as the second half of the ABSA Premiership season unfolds.

“I want to say I'm happy to play for Chippa United and I'm very happy to be here. I'm here to achieve something and to get some success and I think we can do better,” Chabalala told KickOff.

"I think I'll bring something here. Like the coach said, we're struggling at the back so for me with my confidence, I'll work for this team and I think, because we're working together as the team, we laugh, we will achieve something,” Chabalala added.

Chippa United Head Coach, Dan Malesela, adjoins those ambitions with the point that the new signings may cement away some unlet cracks in the squad.

“They are going to help us to fill the void left by the three players, (James Okwuosa, Marc van Heerden and Thembinkosi Lorch). It is just a matter of deciding on which combinations work best. On centre-back pairing I am delighted Bongani (Kama) is back from injury,” Malesela also told KickOff.

“We have ‘Slaughter’ (Xolani Mdaki) and now Justice, including Yurigg promoted from our MDC team. We will find what the best combination is, with a couple of sessions to go before the restart of the season,” Malesela continued.
