Five-year-old boy dies after wall collapses on him in Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth - Port Elizabeth police have opened an inquest docket for investigation after a 5-year-old boy died when a wall fell on him.

"A 5-year-old boy from Veeplaas was fatally wounded when a boundary wall collapsed on him on Thursday afternoon," said police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.

"According to police information, at about 17:10, Olana Matisi was playing with his friends in the street when a boundary wall above the gate of a house in Mlotheni Street collapsed hitting him on his head.

"He was declared dead by paramedics on the scene. Matisi lived a few doors away from the incident."

She said that police have opened an inquest docket.
