‘Folkify!’ returns to the Music Kitchen in Port Elizabeth on Thursday

Nelson Mandela Bay folk musician, Kevin Abraham, who returned to the stage early this year with a new show, made up of original and rediscovered music called, 'Folkify!', will be on stage again this Thursday.

This show has grown over the past few months, and it’s a real crowd pleaser. For some, it’s becoming an institution; an ever evolving show that can be watched again and again.

'Folkify!' is a collaboration of guitar, violin and percussion, along with fine vocals and engaging story-telling.

It’s a show for a mature audience – people who appreciate a stimulating mix of original songs, plus interpretations of some great golden oldies from the 70’s and 80’s - well known pop and rock songs re-imagined for the 'Folkify!' acoustic ensemble.

Kevin brings his unique songs and interpretations, strong vocals and years of experience on acoustic guitar. He’s accompanied by Janet Sklar on violin, and Kristo Zondagh on Percussion. Both Janet and Kristo are acclaimed artists in their own right; versatile and highly talented. They bring a rich, very satisfying element into the 'Folkify!' performances.

'Folkify!' has had performances from the Garden Route to Grahamstown, with most of their shows being complete sell-outs! The trio has been hailed for their thoughtful, interesting, and engaging performancesand now returns home to Port Elizabeth.

The show will be taking over the stage of the Music Kitchen on Thursday from 8pm till 10pm. Be sure to show up early and grab a bite before the show starts.

Tickets are R100 per person, to make a booking contact the Music Kitchen at 066 200 2765. This is a sit down show. A limited selection of hearty food is available, and the bar is well stocked, but there will be no service during the performance.
