Mthatha - Wonders will not end. A Forensic Pathology service vehicle was recovered at Ngcingane locality, in Mthatha, in the early hours of Tuesday morning after it was reported stolen while transporting a body at the same vicinity on Monday night at about 20h00.

A forensic pathology service vehicle is a vehicle specially adapted in terms of applicable specifications to transport bodies from accidents or hospitals etc.

"A case of theft of motor vehicle was opened at Mthatha Police Station after the driver reported that he allegedly stopped the vehicle with its ignition on at the R61 road near Ngcingani location to relieve himself," described police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena.

"It was also reported that the vehicle was transporting a body from one of Ngcobo's local funeral parlours to the Mthatha Forensic Pathology facility when it was taken by an unknown man.

"After an intensive investigation and a chase by police, the vehicle with the body, the two driver's cellphones and a wallet was found in dongas in the same vicinity at about 00h45."

She said that all stakeholders were summoned to the scene and fingerprints were lifted to investigate any foul play.
