Fugitive from Cape Town arrested at King Williams Town surgery

King Williams Town - King Williams Town police on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old suspect allegedly from Cape Town as he attempted to get treatment for a gun shot wound apparently received during a shoot out with Cape Town police.

"The arrest comes after police followed an information they received about the suspect that allegedly shot police members at Samora Machel in Cape Town," described police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa.

"It is alleged that the suspect fled from Cape Town to his home at Tshatshu Location, outside King Williams Town.

"Police recieved information that he was going to visit a certain doctor in town for his treatment after he was shot during the shooting with police."

Capt Mawisa said that the suspect was immediately arrested at the surgery and charged on Cape Town case of attempted murder.

"He will appear at the King Williams Town Magistrate's Court on Friday."
