Gamble set new stadium Night Relay Record
The undefeated Town Lodge Business Night Relay champions, Gamble Pharmacy, went one better during Round 3 on Tuesday evening at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium when their 5 person running team beat the course record which they had set in 2016.
The perfect winters evening conditions ensure the team covered the 17.5km distance in a blistering time of 55 minutes 23 seconds with the SPAR DC chasing hard and finishing in 2nd and 3rd spot respectively in the Men's category in a time of 57 min 33 sec and 1hr 13 minutes respectively. The Gamble Pharmacy social team managed to win the popular Mixed teams category ahead of Team BosBF B and Team BosBF A, a social group of fun runners that had not fewer than 4 teams registered on the evening.
In the Ladies category it was SPAR DC that continued it's domination of the Investec Ladies with Team Varsity College grabbing the bronze medal on the evening whilst in the 3-person walking team category it was undefeated Concord Cranes Group team winning in a time of 1hr 13min aheda of PKF Walkers and team 3 Furious.
The final round of the Town Lodge Business Night Relay for 2018 will take place on Tuesday 28th August whilst all corporate teams now look ahead to the Medihelp Train Race which takes place on Sunday 19th August. For full results from the Series, check out www.zsports.co.za
