George Tourism invests in tourism workforce

George Tourism in collaboration with the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism gave members from the current workforce in the tourism industry the opportunity to do an accredited customer service level training.

Ms Joan Shaw, Tourism Manager said that George Tourism identified the need to enforce quality service delivery to the tourism industry. They have been working closely with the department to ensure the training that will create a higher level of tourism service delivery in our town.

The Customer Services training programme responds to the need that the customer service needs to be matched and sustained to global standards. This project tries to alleviate the inconsistent service levels within the tourism and hospitality industry.

The training was held at the George Civic Centre. Cllr Iona Kritzinger, Portfolio Councillor for Strategic Services, last week presented the group of students with their accredited certificates and encouraged them to keep on investing in themselves because they will surely reap the fruit.

This group of students finished the first level of training with flying colours and started a second level of the training in August 2018.
