Get ready to get your GEEK on for Con.ect 2018!

Calling all geeks and gamers alike, it is time to prepare for Port Elizabeth’s biggest geek convention once again, and this year Con.ect promises to be even bigger and better than ever before!

Con.ect will be celebrating its 5th year running and has special plans in motion to make it even more exciting and thrilling for attendees.

Con.ect has steadily been growing over the years, bringing in more and more people each time, and reaching an attendance of more than 2000 people. Starting from humble beginnings at the Kings Court, the convention will be taking place at the Nelson Mandela University’s Vodacom Indoor Sports Centre on the 4th and 5th of August.

Here's a look at Con.ect from previous years:

Among the many fun and exciting things to expect at Con.ect, will be stalls selling various wares of geek merchandise, movie and pop culture memorabilia, Dungeons and Dragons sessions, Sector 17 Esports LAN gaming, tabletop games and of course the cosplayers! Convention organiser and co-founder, Kayleigh Moss, says that there will be various raffles that attendees can take part in, to win fantastic prizes.

A Cosplay Masquerade will be taking place on the first day, and is open for anyone willing to take part and show off their outfits, while the Cosplay Competition, the most anticipated event for cosplayers, will be taking place on the second day. The Cosplay Competition prizes will be announced just before the event, and they are impressive, according to Con.ect managing director, Janelle Vermaak.

Those looking to sign up for the competition can find entries here.

Local comedian and radio presenter, Roland Gaspar, will once again be hosting the event.

Tickets will only be sold at the door this year, weekend passes are R80 and a day pass is R50, children under the age of six can enter for free.

Con.ect would like to thank their major sponsors and partners, the Nelson Mandela University, Above and Beyond Productions, Tavcor Volkswagen, Virgil Jacobs Productions, and Sector 17 eSports.
