Grade 5 Rider Trumps Adult Competitors

Congratulations to Joshua Furtner, St Andrew’s Prep Grade 5 pupil, who, in spite of competing against adults as well as juniors, achieved third place in the 80/90cm Accumulator Recreational Riding Class competition in the SA Show Jumping National Challenge recently.

The Grahamstown Riding Club hosted the South African Show Jumping National Challenge this year, where South Africa’s best show jump riders participate in their own provinces over identical show jumping tracks. The Eastern Cape Province annually receive national recognition for our excellent provincial riders’ achievements in this event.

Spokesperson Adrienne Plasket said, “This is a major national competition, so a placing is a major achievement. We are delighted with Josh's progress. He is a talented rider.  We hosted some of the best provincial show jumpers and, as always, our Grahamstown Riding Club members held their own over the different levels.”
