Graeme show class against Alexander Road cricket derby – but rain has the last say.

The Graeme College 1st XI, had a fantastic batting performance against Alex Road on Saturday. GC scored 270/4 declared, after 54 overs. Romario Fritz was flawless as he reached his maiden 1st XI century. Fritz (107) combined with Mark Amm, who also showed his immense ability with the bat, scoring 93. The Graeme pair amassed an incredible fourth-wicket partnership of 177 runs, allowing Graeme to declare at lunch on 270/4.

In reply Alex Road was in early trouble at 15/3, before the heavens opened. Play was eventually abandoned due to heavy rains and a wet outfield. The Graeme bowlers were chomping at the bit, but unfortunately weren't able to have another go at the Alex batsmen.

In the u14A match GC, were asked to field and managed to bowl Alex out for 115. Ethan Kent took 4/22. Ethan Richardson (56) and Mornay Kohl (43) steered Graeme to a comfortable seven-wicket win.

The Graeme u15A team bowled first, and dismissed Alex for 109. Sunny Makalime again bowled superbly and picked up 4/28, along with Garwin Dampies (4/14) and Ben Botha (2/11). GC passed the score with two wickets down with Garwin Dampies scoring 55 not out and Cody Schmidt 30 not out; winning by eight wickets

The GC 2nd XI also bowled first, and dismissed Alex for 125, with Dylan Reilly the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/12. Graeme passed the target 5 wickets down with Stefan Botha scoring 44.

The GC 3rds also had a great midweek victory against St. Andrews. GC made 149/4 in their 20 overs with Neil Keeton top-scoring with 63. St Andrews were bowled out for 90 as Daniel-Keegan Hockley took four wickets for just one run, including a hatrick. GC won by 59 runs.

The Graeme Junior school had a tough weekend against Sunridge, where the fortunes were reversed. The GC U11A’s were 64 all out, and Sunridge passed the target with three wickets down. The GC u13B side, were 45 all out, and Sunridge again reached their target with little fuss, winning by 8 wickets. Graeme U13A got to 110, but again it wasn’t enough to challenge Sunridge, as they reached the target to win by 6 wickets.
