Grahamstown police appeal for public assistance in identifying teenage murder victim

Police detectives in Joza Township, Grahamstown, have appealed to the public to assist in identifying a female murder victim, believed to be in her teens, whose body was found dumped at the rubbish site next to a School in Joza over the past weekend.

"Preliminary investigations suggests that the victim sustained serious head injuries and several stab wounds on her upper body," described police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender.

"Three suspects in their teens, one a 16-year-old and two 18-year-old males, appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with the case.

According to Captain Govender, the woman was wearing a blue denim three quarter jeans, a black top, light thus far is that the victim, who is possibly in her late teens with short unstyled hair is believed to be from a farm outside Grahamstown.
