The St Andrew’s College 1st and 2nd XI batsman gained valuable momentum during the GSCF. 100’s from Murray Koster, Peter Jarvis, Chris Benjamin, Guy Rushmere and James Macgregor ensured that the teams were placed in strong positions during the festival.

Chris Norval and Brett Harvey were amongst the wickets using the favourable overhead conditions that were on offer during some of the sessions.

The 1st XI chose to bowl first in their win vs. Menlopark and batted first in their strong draws vs. St Andrew’s School (Bloem), Hudson Park and St Alban’s College. St Andrew’s College will need to be astute and creative in their future afternoon bowling sessions in search for the ten wickets required for victory.

The afternoon run chases result in the “cat and mouse” part of declaration cricket which is enjoyed by captains and coaches and has become an integral part of the festival with the hope of producing a more positive brand of cricket.

"Congratulations to the 2nd XI who won all their matches in a convincing manner which bodes well for the cricket club for the term ahead. Thanks very much to Kingwood and Graeme College for a superb festival of cricket." said Director of Cricket, Mr Carl Bradfield.
