Grahamstown woman busted with dagga worth over R154 000 - man arrested with mandrax worth R34 000

A woman from Grahamstown is expected to appear in the town's court on Monday facing drug-related charges after she was busted at a local 'drug-lab' over the weekend.

Grahamstown police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender said that a little after 13:00 on Sunday, "members of the Grahamstown task team received information of a 'dagga lab'  at a house in Hlalani".

 "Dagga with a street value of R154 700 was seized.

"A female suspect, who turned 37 on Monday, was arrested for possession of dagga," she described.

"The suspect will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate's court on Monday."

Man arrested for drug dealing

Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, members of the Grahamstown task team, headed by Lt Col Tshazibane, received information of mandrax tablets at a house on Jacob Zuma drive in the town.

"The team went to the house and followed the required procedure and seized  680 boss mandrax tablets with a street value of R34 000  and arrested a 34-year-old male," described Captain Govender.

"He faces a charge of possession of drugs and will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate's court early next week."
