For those planning to attend the Wings and Wheels Festival at the Uitenhage Airfield, Uitenhage, and the Standard Bank IRONMAN African Championship 2017 in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth, this weekend, the South African Weather Service's Port Elizabeth office on Tuesday morning predicted a mix of fine weather and cloudy conditions.

Synopsis:

"The tail end of a cold front passes over Cape Town and then slips south of the country. A surface high pressure ridges in along the south coast behind the passing cold front," described Garth Sampson, the SA Weather Service's Client Liaison Officer for the Eastern Cape. 

General weather: Fine conditions

Surface wind: Southerly to south westerly, 15 to 20 kph

Max temperature: 29 C

Synopsis:

"A surface high pressure ridges in from the south west, clouding up the coastal areas and adjacent interior.  Cloud east of East London may be thick enough to generate light rain," Samspon said.
