Hockey report from St Andrew's College

The St Andrew’s College U16D hockey team had an exciting battle against St Dominic Priory’s junior team on Saturday losing 1-0. However, the team played exceptionally well, with both Jordan van der Meulen and Phillip Beynon solid in defence, and Harry Sandell hard-working on attack.

The U16Bs beat Graeme 2nds 2-0 on Friday. A match in which James Duthie and Evan Rennie made valuable contributions on attack and in defence.

The 2nd team had an excellent first half against St Dominic Priory’s 1st XI, scoring two very well taken goals to control the match. Although the Priory dominated much of the second half, St Andrew’s College defended well, in particular, Dan Erasmus pulled off some excellent saves. St Andrew’s College finally winning an exciting encounter 2-1.

The 1st XI beat Graeme College 1st XI 6-0 on Friday, a match which saw the team control most of the match. The midfield was exceedingly hard-working and, in particular, Richard Brown and Josh Marx were patient and hard-working in attack, and disciplined in defence.
