Humansdorp police operations continue to reap results

An integrated roadblock which was conducted on Thursday, on the N2 Highway, by Humansdorp police, with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies, saw a total of 73 vehicles stopped and searched and 22 traffic fines valued at R7 250 issued.

"Two suspects were also arrested for the illegal possession of a small amount of dagga and will appear in court soon," said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

"Police will continue with their actions to intensify their presence on the roads to ensure police visibility is seen and felt, especially with the approaching long weekend."

She said that the South African Police Service is appealing to the community to work with the SAPS in reducing crime by providing valuable information that will lead to the arrest of suspects, the tracing and recovery of illegal firearms.
