IIE's Business School at Varsity College hosts annual Business Breakfast

On Thursday October 26th The IIE’s Business School at Varsity College Port Elizabeth hosted its annual Business Breakfast on campus for corporates and business owners from around Port Elizabeth. The aim of the business breakfast was to provide corporates and business owners with a platform to network as well as gain further insight into the social, political and economic trends of South Africa now and in the future.

Keynote speaker Dr Frans Cronje, who is a well-known Scenario Planner and Chief Executive Officer of the SA Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR), had guests captivated as he shared his knowledge about the different trends happening in South Africa as well as his projected latest scenarios for our country’s future (South Africa in 2030).

His presentation was followed by a question and answer session and a short book signing. He is the author of A Time Traveller’s Guide To Our Next Ten Years (Tafelberg, 2014)and A Time Traveller’s Guide To South Africa 2030 (Tafelberg, April 2017).Over the past two years his scenarios have been presented to an estimated 20 000 people across three continents and have been influential in shaping investor perception towards South Africa.

Said Paul Manson, Principal The IIE Varsity College Port Elizabeth: “Frans’ presentation offered a refreshingly different perspective to the current social and economic climate of South Africa. The different scenarios that he projects indicate a more positive outcome for South Africa than the majority of the main stream South African media.”
