Just like home: Ingleton Lodge B&B ticks all the boxes for business trips

I travel a lot for business, and I know from experience that finding great accommodation at the last minute can be frustrating. Luckily, I recently came across Ingleton Lodge B&B, situated in Mill Park, Port Elizabeth, and they made me feel right at home.

Ingleton is perfectly situated for travelling business executives as they are a short drive away from the Port Elizabeth International Airport, many of the City’s businesses, golf clubs and its famous beachfront entertainment offerings. PE’s Greenacres Shopping Centre is also very close to this 3-Star B&B.

When I arrived late in the evening, Andrea Ruthbone, owner and manager at Ingleton, welcomed me with a big smile and agreed to my request for a brief tour of the lodge.

This stunning original home, which has been restored, has Oregon floors, lovely pressed ceilings, and is beautifully decorated; giving off that warm and cosy feel, just like home.

Ingleton also has some great ways for you to relax. You can take advantage of their pool table or relax in the lounge area, where there is a spectacular fireplace for those cold wintery nights. They also have a pool, where you can laze in the sun with a book in hand.

Andrea then showed me to my very spacious African Suite, which had been decorated with some stunning traditional and modern African artworks. After freshening up, I relaxed on my queen size bed with my laptop, and due to the fact that Ingleton has free Wi-Fi throughout the B&B, I could catch up on some work, before falling into a deep and peaceful sleep.

In the morning, I awoke to the smell of a traditional farm breakfast, which was ready at 7am, making it convenient for those needing to rush off for morning meetings. The breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs, toast, fried tomato and baked beans, with coffee and orange juice. It was delicious and is definitely the perfect way to start off a business day.

If you feel you cannot meet your clients at restaurants or their boardrooms, then you will be happy to know that Ingleton Lodge also has two modern conference rooms, suitable for a wide range of events.

As a travelling executive, all I require is convenience, a comfortable bed and a great breakfast, and at Ingleton Lodge, I got more than I bargained for!

I can highly recommend them to anyone visiting the Friendly City. For reservations call 041 3736395 or email [email protected] and visit www.ingleton.co.za.
