King Williams Town youngster makes it big on national television

King Williams Town’s Bongisipho Sibane is the new host of ‘Teenagers On a Mission’ (TOMz), after being selected as the best female from over 300 other candidates.

According to the 20-year old star, the entertainment industry has always been her first love.

Bongisipho is no stranger to the entertainment industry as she made her television debut appearance Loxion Lyric, a mini-series that ran on SABC 2 in 2013.

“In order to succeed at anything, you need to first have a vision of it. I’ve always wanted to branch out into other forms of the media, like being a presenter or doing voiceover,” she told Go & Express.

TOMz is “a youth-orientated exploration into science and technology; where entertainment is utilised as a relevant and far-reaching platform for education, while empowering the South African youth”.

Sibane will be on air every Monday and Tuesday at 4pm on SABC 1.

Besides her previous TV experience, Bongi has featured as a guest presenter on TruFM, a radio station based in Bhisho.

“It was all by grace and mercy that I got the nod at the auditions,” she remarked, adding that the director described the competition as being tight.

She expressed her excitement at the big opportunity, saying: “I believe that this is a big break for me, because people will now see me on their TV screens. My profile will grow bigger and it will open up more opportunities for me.”
