Kouga Multisport Race, Sponsored by Woodlands Dairy Race

The annual Kouga Multisport Race, sponsored by Woodlands Dairy, provided fitness and fun to more than 800 runners,  walkers and spectators on Saturday, 7 January 2017.

The race, currently in its 16th year, is held in the scenic town of Jeffrey’s Bay and is registered with Eastern Province Athletics.  It is the first race in their athletics calendar and registered athletes, participating in the 15km race, had the opportunity to earn league points.

In a supporting role was The Kouga Lions Club who took on the role of marshals along the route and provided general support. In giving back to the community, a cheque of R5 000 was awarded to them.

Female Overall Winner Ntombesinto Mfunzi - 0.59.12 (Centre) with 1st Runner up, Ndileka Mvakwendlu - 0.59.40 (Left) and 2nd Runner-up, Siphokazi Nojoko - 1.03.23 (Right). Prizes were handed over by Woodlands Dairy’s Tinus Pretorius, General Manager: Sales & Marketing (left) and Carmelia Miles, CSI & Marketing Coordinator (right).

The 15km race was followed by a 6km trail run on the premises of Mentors Country Estate and a 600M Mini Moo Dash for children aged 9 years old and younger.

The winners of the male and female 15km categories were Ntombesinto Mfunzi from Nedbank Running Club and Melikhaya Frans from Ikhamva AC.
