Every parent's worst nightmare came to pass on Thursday morning when a Port Elizabeth father discovered the body of his 25-year-old son, Andile Nabe, after he was taken by a group of people, who accused him of being a house robber.

According to police information, Nabe's body was discovered in bushes in Kwadwesi.

"At about 08:00, on Thursday morning, the badly assaulted body of Andile Nabe was discovered in bushes between Westville and Chatty River by the father after friends of his son told him they saw him there," said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"Witnesses have told police that Andile left his home with a group of people the previous night (Wednesday) at about 19:00, who suspected him to have committed house robbery."

"Any person with information that could assist police in this investigation can contact detective Warrant Officer Kaya Makaula at 071 687 1976," said Capt Beetge.

Motherwell SAPS Cluster Commander, Major General Dawie Rabie, has expressed his concern of these type of assaults and murders.

"SAPS cannot allow groups of persons to assault or murder in this fashion. If persons are suspected of committing a crime, the police should be given the information in order for the Law to play its role in investigation of crime, arresting of suspects and taking them to court, and for the Courts to give the appropriate decisions and sentences on these crimes," he said.

"Persons assaulting and killing other human beings are also committing crime and will be prosecuted by the full force of the law."
