KwaNobuhle man expected in court after fatally stabbing girlfriend

A 39-year-old man is expected in court on Monday after he was arrested by Detectives from SAPS KwaNobuhle on Saturday night on a charge of murder after apparently killed a 36-year-old woman.

"It is alleged that the victim was taken to a hospital in KwaNobuhle on Saturday night, at about 19:00, with a stab wound to her neck," said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

"The victim was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend, after they had an argument.

"The reason for the murder is unknown at this stage."

She identifed the victim, as Bulelwa Maseti (36).

"Detectives from SAPS KwaNobuhle and forensics combed for clues and followed up on leads to ensure that the offender was brought to book," Capt Swart said.

"This arrest is in line with the organisational objectives of the SAPS.

"The 39-year-old male suspect is due to appear in the KwaNobuhle Magistrate's Court on Monday, on a charge of murder."

Acting Cluster Commander of Uitenhage, Brig Ronald Koll, hailed the team for the effective manner in which they executed their duties.
