Kwanobuhle police appeal for leads after 30-year-old man gunned down

Two of the occupants of a white VW Golf allegedly fired several shots, fatally wounding the 30-year-old Kwanobuhle man.

Police in Kwanobuhle, Uitenhage, are investigating a case of murder following a shooting incident in which a 30-year-old man was fatally shot on Monday night, at about 22:30.

"It is alleged that the 30-year-old man was standing in Mandla Road, Kwanobuhle, when he was approached by a group of males driving a white VW Golf," described police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart. 

"Two of the occupants of the vehicle exited the vehicle and allegedly fired several shots, fatally wounding the 30-year-old male." 

She said that Detectives from the South African Police Service in Kwanobuhle are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in the murder. 

Kwanobuhle police are appealing to the public to help solve shooting

"The name of the victim will be released once the formal identification is completed," Capt Swart said. 

"The motive for the murder is not known at this stage and police are following up on all possible leads.  

"Anyone who might be able to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects or who can assist with information, are requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Deon Arnolds on 071 475 2330, SAPS Kwanobuhle on 041 978 8600 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
