Two suspects are expected in court on Thursday after they were arrested on Wednesday by East London police for business burglary.

According to police spokesperson, W/O Hazel Mqala, East London Detectives and Crime Prevention members arrested two suspects after having received information, which they immediately followed up.

"The team interviewed the suspects, who cooperated with the SAPS and led them to various addresses where stolen items including two laptops, 14 tablets phones, nine laptop chargers, four playstations, 358 cellphone batteries and 161 cellphones were recovered," she described.

"During preliminary investigations, it was established that several of the items recovered have been linked to business burglaries in the East London area.

"Investigations through forensic analysis will continue."

W/O Mqala said that the suspects face charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

"In another case, two more suspects were arrested for possession of a stolen hammer drill," she added.

"An additional three suspects were arrested for possession of drugs.

"The suspects arrested are aged between 25 and 45."

W/O Mqala said all suspects will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
