Local Irish dancer continues to garner awards

Miss Courtney Pearce from McWilliams Academy of Dance in Port Elizabeth took part in the British Nationals held at the Southport Convention Centre on the 2nd of September.

Courtney competed against dancers from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada and Australia and placed an impressive 15th overall in the senior ladies category!

Says MAD owner and dance teacher Jennifer McWilliams: “I am so incredibly proud of Courtney! To have achieved a recall at the British Nationals is no small achievement!” (To be eligible for a recall, a dancer must place in the top 50% after dancing a soft shoe and a hard shoe dance. They then have one more opportunity to dance for the judges, before the overall results are announced)

Courtney remains the highest placing female SA Irish Dancer ever and continues to be an inspiration to young dancers around the country!
