Lusikisiki men arrested while in the middle of a business burglary

Three thieves are expected in court on Monday after they were busted by members of the Lusikisiki Crime Prevention, the K9 Unit and Vispol.

"The members awere busy with operations in town at Lusikisiki when they were reported that at one of the shops the alarm went off," said police spokesperson, Capt Nozuko Handile.

"On their arrival, they saw a man standing outside the shop pretending as a security guard."

He said that when they interviewed him, they noticed that he was very nervous and behaved suspiciously. 

"At this stage, they were joined by the members of the K9 unit. They saw one of the suspects inside the shop.  They came inside and found two suspects with money, tobacco and airtime."

They were all arrested on a charge of  buglary at a business and possession of suspected stolen property. 

The suspects, who are aged abetween 28 years and 34 years, will appear in the  Lusikisiki Magistrate's Court on Monday.
