Mahindra plusses Genio range

Indian auto giant Mahindra has introduced a more upmarket version of its work ready Genio single cab bakkie in the form of the Genio Plus.

Compared to the standard model, the R209 995 Plus mainly benefits from the addition of otherwise optional or aftermarket equipment, which includes extensive colour on the doors and mirrors, special bulbar, rear bumper step, front and rear rollbars, sidesteps, a rubberised loadbox and model specific 15-inch alloy wheels.

Creature comforts have also been enhanced with the addition of a four-speaker MP3 compatible sound system incorporating CD / USB / SD slots, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, central locking, front fogligths and ABS.

Up front, the Plus remains unchanged from the standard model with power still being provided by Mahindra’s 2.2-litre mHawk turbodiesel engine that produces 88 kW and 290 N.m of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels with fuel consumption being rated at 7.9 L/100 km and emissions at 210 g/km.
