Makana Municipality says Kleynhans Water Treatment Works not yet at capacity

Makhanda - The Makana Local Municipality advised residents the James Kleynhans Water Treatment Works is not yet operating at full capacity and that is affecting its reservoirs.

"Certain high lying areas in Joza are experiencing very low to no pressure of water supply," the municipality said.

"We request residents to inform us which areas still do not have water as this differs on a daily basis. Once we are informed, trucks will be dispatched to deliver water to those areas.

"Please take note that the municipality is doing everything possible to make sure that the plant is operating at full capacity.

"We anticipate that the plant will be fully operational by Saturday. However, we intend not to have water supply on Thursday to allow the levels to pick up in our reservoirs so that all areas have full water supply on Friday."

The Municipality urged residents to use water sparingly.

"Our humble apologies for the inconvenience caused as the municipality is doing everything possible to address the issue of water supply."
