Man and woman from Kwazakhele in court for alleged drug dealing

Kwazakhele - Two persons are expected in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after they were arrested for dealing in drugs by Port Elizabeth police on Monday. Police also confiscated nearly R20 000 worth of Mandrax and dagga.

"This follows after a joint operation were conducted by Kwazakele Police and the SAPS K9 Unit in support of the Safer Festive Season Operations," described police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"In Maku street, a 31-year-old male was arrested at his residence with 68 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of about R3 400. He was charged with dealing in mandrax.

"In a second incident, a 32-year-old female was arrested at her residence in QeQe Street for being in possession of 219 bompies dagga and 54 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of almost R16 000.

"She was charged with dealing in mandrax and dealing in dagga."

Both suspects will be appearing in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Wednesday to face their charges.
