Man arrested with dagga worth R100 000 on the N2
A 35-year-old man is expected in court on Monday after he was busted by police in the early hours of Sunday morning while transporting dagga worth R100 000.
"Highway Patrol members of Mount Ayliff Cluster during early hours today were buzy patrolling along the N2 highway," said police spokesperson, Captain Edith Mjoko.
"On T-junction from Ntabankulu, they stopped a white Toyota van and requested to search it.
"Upon searching, they recovered and confiscated 20 bags of dagga estimated to the value of R100 000."
She said that a 35-year-old man was arrested for dealing in dagga.
"It is alleged that the dagga was from the area of Macwerheni, Ntabankulu, and the suspect was conveying the dagga to Cape Town."
