Man nabbed at OR Tambo airport in connection with eNatis fraud syndicate

King Williams Town - Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga, hailed the work of the Anti-Corruption Team, which arrested a foreign national on Saturday at the OR Tambo International Airport.

He had apparently fled the country in July.

"The 36-year-old man was linked to the syndicate case of theillegal registration of vehicles and imports, which involved members of the SAPS, who were subsequently arrested at the time," said police spokesperson, Colonel Michelle Matroos.

"The suspect, whose name cannot be disclosed before his court appearance, entered the OR Tambo International Airport from Cameroon and was immediately arrested as he was red flagged [on the system]."

He is expected to appear in Komga Magistrate's Court on fraud and corruption charges on Monday.

"The suspect is currently in police custody."
