Market Square Volkswagen Uitenhage raises R37 500 for local children's home

Market Square Volkswagen in Uitenhage, last week, raised around R37 500 for the Oosterland Child and Youth Care centre, which is based in Despatch, during a gala event that was held at the dealership's floor. The event was attended by over 200 guests, who were entertained by celebrity host, Ian Von Memerty.

Tracy Weise, Dealer Principal at Market Square Volkswagen Uitenhage, said “We adopted Oosterland as our partner for 2015, from the beginning of the year we have been actively involved in a Birthday project whereby we support 4 houses and supply the children with a present and a birthday party on a  monthly basis.

"In addition to our monthly commitment it was decided to host a cocktail party namely Cocktails & Canapé’s at the dealership during August as a corporate fundraiser."

The car dealers have always been actively involved in their community and on a yearly basis chose an organisation to support in terms of a Community Services Project. It is important that the organisation chosen mirror images their values and that their staff can relate to the beneficiary.
