Mbalula resigns as ANC Member of Parliament

The Office of the ANC Chief Whip at the National Assembly confirmed that former Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, tendered his resignation as an ANC Member of Parliament effective from 26 February.

"While comrade Mbalula’s departure from Parliament will leave a void, we derive satisfaction from the knowledge that he will continue serving the movement as the ANC’s Head of Elections towards the 2019 General Elections campaign," said Nonceba Mhlauli, Spokesperson in the Office of the ANC Chief Whip, Hon. Jackson Mthembu.

At the end of February, the ANC announced that Mbalula, had been redeployed as the Head of Elections at the ANC Headquarters, Chief Albert Luthuli House, in Johannesburg.
