Mdantsane Operational Command Center (OCC) members redirected their energies in pursuit of a suspect, who might be responsible for re-selling stolen goods in Mdantsane, in East London.

"During this intelligence driven operation police disguised as customers and pounced on an unexpecting 27-year-old suspect allegedly specialising in re-selling the stolen plasma TV's along the NU2," said police spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku.

"Police confiscated 11 plasma TV's, three laptops and four new motor vehicle tyres estimated to worth more than R90 000 combined in NU2 and NU 9, Mdantsane respectively."

He said that this success will serve as a deterrent to the would be criminals, who might have a thought of committing offences of this nature, especially house breaking and theft.

"The suspect is due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court soon, on charges of suspected stolen goods."
