MEC Mvoko leads Nelson Mandela Bay's back to school campaign
Eastern Cape MEC for Education, Mlungisi Mvoko, is expected in the Nelson Mandela Bay on Tuesday where he will lead the Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE) school readiness teams.
"The teams will start at Linkside Senior Secondary School, in Mill Park, Port Elizabeth," the department said.
"The visit is meant to monitor and assess if all resources meant to ensure school functionality, teaching and learning including attendance at the school have been delivered and available for the functioning of the school."
It said that the teams are also designed to support strategic priorities of government applicable to the Education department including assessing school readiness for 2019.
"These visits has been jointly organised by the department and the Portfolio Committee of the Easten Cape provincial legislature."
