Mercedes Benz driver flees after knocking over pedestrian in East London
Cambridge police in East London are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a 50-year-old pedestrian was injured in a hit and run accident in Amalinda on the N2 on-ramp on Tuesday night.
"The pedestrian was allegedly hit by the driver of a Mercedes Benz that was travelling on Amalinda main road, in the direction of Amalinda," said police spokesperson, Capt Nkosikho Mzuku.
"The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital by the ambulance."
Capt Mzuku said that police would like to urge anyone with information about the driver of the said vehicle to contact Cambridge police station on 043 709 7500 or alternatively Crime Stop on08600 10111.
