Motherwell SAPS holds Youth Empowerment Campaign

The South African Police Service (SAPS) on Saturday hosted a Youth Empowerment and Education Campaign at the Saint Marks Church in Tyoksville, Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, to educate the youth about the dangers of substance abuse.

“SAPS Sector Managers, Community Police Forum Members and the Department of Safety and Liaison joined hands with the clergy of the church to educate the youth on the dangers of alcohol, dagga, tik, and mandrax," described police, Captain Beetge said.

“Other topics included teenage pregnancies, the dangers of social media, the effects of bullying and the consequences of having a criminal record.

“Conducting these joint campaigns strengthens the bonds of community and the partnership it shares with the SAPS.”
