MOVIE REVIEW: Star Wars Rogue One

Ok, I'm gonna say it - Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and was made for all of us who loved the original epic way back in 1977!

It is set in the Star Wars timeline between Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith (2005) & Episode 4: A New Hope (1977) and is a parallel story which explains the origins of the Death Star and the Rebels efforts learn more about it.

There are a bunch of all new characters all of which are interesting and a few surprising cameo’s – some with the aid of fantastic CGI.

The movie has the nostalgic look and feel of the original trilogy and holds your attention from start to finish – sort of a sci-fi version of a Dirty Dozen type WW2 movie!

You don’t have to be a Star Wars fundi to follow it either – just sit back and enjoy the stunning visuals with an open mind and you’ll walk out feeling good.

Be prepared for goose-bumps when Darth Vader returns to cinemas with the Imperial March playing proudly in the background – a highlight for me as it was the first time my boys have ever seen him on the big screen!

I give Rogue One 10/10 for not disappointing and for delivering a fun, action packed, albeit non-official chapter in this ongoing saga.
