Mthatha man arrested in R200 000 mandrax bust after police get tip-off

A 25-year-old man is expected to to appear in court on Monday after he was arrested by police over the weekend in possession of around 2 000 Boss Mandrax tablets.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena, the drugs were confiscated by Mthatha Public Order Policing members after they followed a positive information about a 25-year-old man selling drugs in Southernwood in Mthatha on Saturday morning.

"The members received an information and raided his house and confiscated drugs worth R200 000," she said.

Capt Koena said that he will be appearing before the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Monday facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

"I commend you for this great job. We must not allow them to kill our youth," said the Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza.
