Mthatha police appeal for leads after unknown men found hacked to death

A Ford Ranger, which Mthatha police believe belonged to the victims was found burnt to ashes close to the bodies.

Police in Mthatha have appealed to the public to assist them with information that can help them track down and arrest suspects, who hacked and killed two unknown men aged 35 and 45 years old at Lutholi locality, in the Sibangweni A/A, outside Mthatha, on Sunday night.

"It is alleged that today at about 05h30 one of the community members saw the two deceased with multiple wounds on their upper bodies at the dongas whilst he was taking his stock to the grazing field," described police spokesperson, Captain Dineo.

"A Ford Ranger, which is believed to belong to the deceased was found in ashes close to the bodies."

Mthatha police also investigating motive for the killing

She said that police in Mthatha are yet to determine the motive for the killing, which is unknown.
