Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber generally welcomes SOPA 2016

The State of the Province Address that was delivered by Premier of the Eastern Cape, Phumulo Masualle, on Friday morning in the Eastern Cape Legislature in Bhisho, has been generally welcomed by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

According to Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO, Kevin Hustler, the SOPA was "very focused on what has been delivered over the past year".

"We commend the Premier for commanding respect from all attendees to deliver the SOPA without interruption and that the business of the day continued as per schedule and with the requisite decorum," Hustler said in a statement.

"The SOPA, however, did lack some forward-thinking and vision casting.

"We would have wanted more details on the key pillars of the National Development Plan flowing into the Provincial development Plan. We found it concerning that there was no bigger focus on the current economic crisis and how the provincial government would address the crisis through better austerity measures, cost-cutting and the implementation of catalytic projects."
