Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber unveils mobile app - the NMBBC App

Supporting and connecting local business in Nelson Mandela Bay has now moved into a digital space. The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has launched a new mobile App, the first of its kind for an organised business association in the region.

The 'NMBBC App' is an innovative, user-friendly digital platform for business to business promotion in Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounding areas. A key feature of the App is a business directory, which connects App users with businesses in the region, who are members of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber President, Thomas Schaefer, said that the NMBBC App is the dawning of an exciting new period for the Business Chamber.

“The Business Chamber serves businesses in the city by offering a platform to connect with one another, in order to grow the local economy. The App offers an exciting new platform to achieve both of these goals in an innovative manner. Remaining relevant is crucial for not only business organisations such as the Business Chamber, but for all businesses operating in the current challenging economic conditions in Nelson Mandela Bay.”

“Supporting our fellow businesses in the Metro is essential to grow the local economy and I encourage all members to do business with one another via our App,” said Schaefer.

While the App is free to download in the Apple Store and Android Play Store for anyone eager to do business in Nelson Mandela Bay, a listing on the App is exclusivity available to Business Chamber members only. This listing not only recognises businesses as members of the Business Chamber, who are in good standing, but also offers additional exposure as a value-added benefit to our entire database of members.

“The Business-to-Business App encourages local business interaction between big and small businesses. The App offers an exclusive platform for smaller members to market themselves, which is affordable and user friendly. While big business, who is feeling the pressures of the new B-BBEE codes and other local procurement legislation, can make use of the App to find an array of diverse, local suppliers,” said Acting CEO Prince Matonsi.

In addition, other free functionalities of the App include an easy way to stay in touch with the Nelson Mandela Bay business fraternity - including the latest events hosted by the Business Chamber and the latest business news of what is happening in the City.
