Ngqamakhwe man arrested after beating his son to death

Ngqamakhwe - Ngqamakhwe police arrested a 50-year-old man for alleged murder of his son, aged 37.

"It is alleged that the suspect beat his son with stick and sjambok accusing him of stealing car parts as the suspect is a mechanic," described police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The alleged murder was committed on Friday, at about 18h00, at Mazizini Locality, Hlobo Village, Ngqamakhwe.

"The 37-year-old man passed away at the scene."

Capt Manatha said that the father was arrested and will appear before the Ngqamakhwe Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a murder charge.

"The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all his close relatives are officially informed of his murder."
