Ngqamakhwe police have appealed for public's assistance after woman found murdered

Ngqamakhwe police are seeking community assistance following the murder of a 54-year-old woman.

"It is alleged that the deceased was sleeping alone on Tuesday 07 February 2017 at Votini Location, Mpukane Village, Ngqamakhwe," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The neighbor of the deceased was concerned that he did not see the deceased in the morning.

"He decided to go and knock at the door of the deceased."

Captain Manatha said that there was no response and he decided to kick the door open.

"He discovered that the deceased had an open wound on her upper body.

"A murder case has been opened. No suspect has been arrested," he said.

"An appeal is made to anyone with information to assist the police. Community can contact SAPS Crime Stop 08600 10111. The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until her next of kin are informed of her murder."
