NSRI urges for caution around the coast and around water bodies

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) are urging public caution around the coast in light of the Full Moon Spring Tide.

While, it said that the Full Moon Spring Tide peaked on Saturday, NSRI Spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, added; "The Spring Tide Alert lasts into the middle of the coming week."

He said that the full moon Spring Tide brings a higher than normal high tide, a lower than normal low tide and stronger than normal rip currents.

"Anglers fishing along the coast, bathers, beach walkers and coastal hikers are are urged to be cautious," Lambinon added.

"We urge parents to ensure children have responsible adult supervision around water."
