One-day old baby found dumped yet alive in Queenstown

Queenstown - Police in Queenstown are searching for the mother of a one-day old baby boy, who was found dumped near the bushes at Westborne township on Thursday at about 13:00.

"It is alleged that the child was seen by a passerby, who alerted local police," said police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni. 

"Police arrived at the scene and they found the child still alive.

"The baby was taken to Frontier Hospital for examination and to a place of safety - he is still in a good condition."

Police are appealing to anyone, who can assist with the whereabouts of the mother of the child. They can contact Queenstown Police at 045 808 6029 or toll free number 086001011.
