PE Harlequins win televised clash, all Grand Challenge club rugby results
The Eastern Province Rugby Union Grand Challenge resumed again on Saturday, after the competition’s break on Easter weekend two weeks ago.
African Bombers had the privilege of hosting the PE Harlequins at the Wolfson Stadium on Sunday morning in the first ever televised Grand Challenge encounter, as it played the part of the SuperSport Challenge Rugby Festival.
PE Harlequins won the game 45-34 in an affluent try fest; with the match followed by semi-pro encounters, seeing the Border Bulldogs beating Boland Cavaliers 28-25 and the penultimate clash of Western Province beating hosts EP Kings 30-18.
Third-placed in the Super 12, Springrose from New Brighton has not yet rose to the occasion in the Grand Challenge and again went down 24-21 to the Born Fighters in Somerset East on Saturday.
Parks upset NMMU in their own backyard with a comfortable 35-12 victory.
